My great friend, Fred Miles passed away on September 10, 2019. Fred and I met at Cabrillo College while taking an astrophotography class. I will always remember Fred as a man who shared a love of learning, and as a warm, compassionate and gentle soul. He will always be missed.

This picture of Fred was taken at Lake San Antonio back in March of 2011. This is one of my favorite pictures of Fred. Even wild animals feel safe around him.

A number of Fred's astronomy buddies were there to honor him.
